This April the Full Moon sits in the air sign of Libra for a second month. Connected with the heart chakra, Libra cultivates loving energy with a gentle approach, desire for harmony and sustainable peace. There is a sense of community and companionship that comes with this sign. Under the vibrational pull of this Full Moon, we are asked to release and set free any upset to our inner balance. A call for detoxifying and letting go, as an act of self love and worth.

This could be specifically letting go of toxic relationships, with other people, substances, or it could mean letting go of an idea, a feeling or a toxic narrative we have been holding on to. There is an opportunity here and now to really question what habits and relationships are keeping meoff balance? How are the scales in my life tipped? The changes needed may be small and faint or may require you to dig deeper into your archive of the mind and memory.

Ask yourself, meditate on, or journal:
- where do I feel I am lacking balance in my life?
- what thought patterns are holding me back from feeling spacious, nourished and whole?
- how can I create relationships around me that nurture the feeling of balance and connectedness?”

Sian Pascale on April’s Full Moon

“I have always had mixed feelings about using the word healing (and healer). Fundamentally it’s because I feel as though it suggests there is something wrong that needs fixing, whereas I prefer to believe that life is an ongoing commitment towards growth and transformation that happens for each individual in perfect ways for them.

However this month it came up very strongly for me to create a Healing Circle for this Full Moon. There has been a lot of intense energy recently in the world of both suffering and conflict, as well as compassion. love and empathy. It really felt important that we use the energy of the Libran Full Moon- an air sign that is about connecting to others, and a breath that awakens the healing heart- to channel all of this energy towards positivity.

Through specific sacred mantra we are able to connect to the healing energy of the Universe and the healing energy within ourselves, allowing us to move through our own grief, cultivate empathy and send healing energy out into the world.

Sacred Healing Practice with Tara Mantra

  • Find a quiet space, make it comfortable and sacred.

  • Light a candle and incense

  • If you have any crystals, flowers, stones or natural objects create a circle around yourself before you begin the practice.

  • Begin with a clearing meditation. Visualising white light pouring in through the crown of the head, purifying, cleansing. On the exhale visualise grey smoke leaving the body releasing any toxicity or negativity.

  • Visualise White Tara in front of you (pictured right). Begin to chant out loud, silently, or listen to the mantra Om Tare, Tu Tare, Tu Re So Ha.

  • Visualise energy, love, compassion, healing from her heart entering yours for as long as feels comfortable.

  • Allow her image to fade and sit in stillness.

What The Light Collective Mentor Students are saying

This month’s full moon is in Libra and marks  an opportunity to let go of the year that has passed thus far and tap into the heart space. Moving through the month with more joy and authenticity can be achieved with the simple practice of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion - which can be applied to every aspect of our life. Singing to your favourite music or singing mantra with sincerity can shift energy and bring happiness. Set the intention to move through the month with more joy and take the opportunity to think about the collective ‘we’ and see the grace that flows.” - By Julie Belic @juliebelic.yoga and Georgina McGibbon @Georgina.McGibbon

Sacred Practice

Julie and Georgina invite you to chant mantra to express love, devotion and joyful expression. Choose a sacred space, light a candle to anchor your Drishti (eye gaze) and find a comfortable seat.

Georgie love to listen to anything by Krishna Das including his Youtube Chai and Chat #31
And loves the teachings of Sivananda for their concise understanding of Bhakti Yoga.

It is a request to remove the obstacles of our mind to show us the truth of our existence through light.
