Capricorn Full Moon, Partial Solar Eclipse, Mercury Retrograde & Pluto

Every Full Moon we experience an intensity of energy as the Sun’s light hits the Moon illuminating the shadow aspect of ourselves. The Sun and Moon sit on opposing sides of the astrological sky- the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn. This has been combined with three other astrological events; Mercury Retrograde, a partial solar eclipse and the alignment of Pluto, creating
the greatest challenge but greatest moment for transformation in the entire year."

Here are some key points on how you can move through the intensity of this time with some grace (and sanity)

  • Full Moon in Capricorn- is the Father Figure, when in balance, secure and stable, but in it’s shadow aspect can bring out those less than desirable parts of ourselves and others: manipulative, controlling, obsessive and dogmatic. Don’t hide from these parts of yourself, take this time to go deep and recognise these aspects in those around you.

  • Sun in Cancer- our emotion vulnerabilities are in full play, your emotional needs are at the forefront of your life and seem to be on show for everyone. Allow yourself to find the nurturing you need, the affection, the attention from the people who love and support you. Explore your emotional world and the power of vulnerability

  • Solar Eclipse- is a time for intense purging and letting go. Your fears, insecurities and weaknesses may all be rising quickly to the surface … and all those aspects of your life that you have been procrastinating on getting closure with? They will be in your face right now. Rather than fight it, use this energy to support you in finally closing the chapter of this book. Cleanse and release once and for all.

  • Mercury in Retrograde- as it appears Mercury is moving backwards it can appear that things in our life are moving backwards, nothing seems to be able to move forward! If you’re trying to get a project started you might feel an uphill battle, especially when it comes to electronics and equipment. Again, don’t fight it, work with the Universe. Use this time to reflect, go deep, don’t push forward or make rash decisions, be present and take stock.

  • Pluto- reminds us the we are on a big journey that has been karmically laid out for us whether we like it or not. All we can do is trust and learn. Trust and learn. Find devotion and faith that all will be well.

  • After this week we will find a lot of resolution and the opportunity for huge breakthrough shifts. Ride the wave and stay strong, and allow yourself to go deep into what arises. Find the revelations that are waiting to be witnessed..

FULL MOON HOME PRACTICE

  • Set up a sacred space for yourself that feels safe and warm, with candles and a beautiful image.

    JOURNALLING & REFLECTION

  • Which aspects of your shadow are showing up to help you transform? Are there parts of you, insecurities, pain points, weaknesses, obsessive, manipulative or controlling aspects in your life and relationships that this Full Moon is illuminating?

  • In what ways is the Mercury Retrograde asking you to slow down?

  • How are you showing up for yourself right now? What is your inner parent needing from you- do you need to be held and nurtured? Or to be motivated to go out into the world to show up and grow up?

  • Who do you need to forgive and show compassion to?

As you go deep into reflection allow yourself to be completely free in what you write, and when you have finished either burn or tear up and bury under the Full Moon your reflections. Offer them up. Honour what each aspect holds for you in terms of learning and growth.

  • Spend 5 minutes chanting or listening to the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum

  • Sit in still meditation for 15 minutes. Allow the thoughts to come and go. See if you can anchor your consciousness on the dark space behind the closed eyes, like the darkness of the night and rest in this calm and nourishing space.
